Of Greedy People
It seems that there are a lot of greedy people around.
The following are some examples reported recently:
· Two grandparents sought compensation from the rail authority after they were separated from their grandchildren at the railway station.
· A passenger sought compensation for hearing damage due to the public announcement system being too loud at a train station.
· A swimmer sought compensation from a local council when he injured himself after jumping into the water at the beach.
· A drunk person making claim from the pub for injury sustained on the way home.
· An elderly couple sought compensation from a supermarket after purchase a bad tasting cake. They refuse to accept a $50 shopping voucher offered by supermarket and sued the supermarket.
If the system allows such cases to succeed, then it will encourage more of such cases. It is heartening to know that many of such cases have been defeated eventually. Surely, common sense must prevail and people must be responsible for themselves.
