Happy Winter Solstice
Today 21/12/2004 is Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. It is
the day the sun is furthest south from China (or the Northern Hemisphere. Traditionally the Chinese celebrate the "Dong Zhi" or "Tang Chek" festival. The festival involves the making of glutinous rice ball of various colours boiled in syrup called "Tong Yuen" or "Koay Ee". It is a time for family reunion and preparation for the next exciting New Year.
May I wish everyone good luck on this joyous occasion.
